Orders

For private customers there is no minimum order. For orders under 10,00 € (excluding VAT and shipping) a handling fee of 3,00 € plus VAT is applied. The minimum pack size indicated on each product must still be respected.

Many products are sold in pre-set packs (for example a bag of 100 pieces or a roll of 12.5 metres). The price may be shown per metre or per piece, but the purchase is always made by the whole pack. The minimum quantity and the purchase step are shown on the product page.

They show the stock level of the product in our warehouses: green available, yellow limited stock, red not available. These indications are approximate and not binding.

"A" indicates that the goods have already been purchased and are on their way. "R" indicates that the item is on request: it may not be in stock and will be ordered from the supplier once we receive your order.

We will inform you promptly by e-mail. You can accept delivery of the available goods only by proceeding with payment, or wait for the order to be completed. If you wish to decline, you must let us know within 48 hours. If we receive no reply within 5 days of the payment request, the order is cancelled.

In your account area, under "My orders", you will find the up-to-date status of each order. When the goods are shipped, you will receive an e-mail with the courier's tracking code.

The online purchase process generates a purchase proposal. The contract is considered concluded when the proposal reaches our electronic address. You will receive an e-mail confirming receipt and the assigned order code, which should be quoted in any further communication.

Yes. Given the wide range of products, you can request a sample to check the actual shade and characteristics by writing to vendite@vitolo.it.

Shipping and delivery

The cost is calculated automatically at checkout based on the actual weight of the order and the destination, before payment. The full rates are available on the Shipping page.

Yes, and it varies according to the price list assigned to you. For private customers buying online the threshold is 59,00 € including VAT. For retail and wholesale price lists the thresholds are higher and are shown on the Shipping page based on your account.

We ship throughout Italy by express courier (GLS, BRT, SDA). Delivery takes 1-3 working days for Italy, 2-5 days for Sicily, Calabria and Sardinia, and 3-5 days for international shipments, counted from the time of shipping.

They are indicative. Given the quantity and variety of our products, once the actual weight and volume have been checked the costs may change. In that case we will inform you of the new shipping cost, which you can accept or decline before the goods are shipped.

Yes. In addition to express courier delivery, you can collect the goods at our premises at Via Galileo Ferraris 70, 80142 Napoli, or have them shipped freight collect with a courier of your choice. The cost is communicated when the order is confirmed.

Check that the number of packages matches the delivery note, and that the package is intact, sealed with Vitolo S.r.l. tape, and neither damaged nor wet. If the package does not meet these conditions, you must write a formal reservation on the delivery note and refuse the damaged goods, then inform us. Without a formal complaint to the courier we cannot accept claims for transport damage.

The courier leaves a notice and, if you provided an e-mail address, sends you a notification. The goods remain at the local depot for 8 days, within which you must arrange a new delivery. After this period the goods are returned to us and the related costs remain your responsibility.

Yes, we ship throughout Europe and to the main non-EU countries. Costs and delivery times are calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.

Payments and invoicing

Advance bank transfer, credit card and Postepay, PayPal, cash on delivery and postal account transfer. For bank transfer and postal account transfer, shipping only takes place once the payment has been credited: send a copy of the receipt with the CRO reference number to vendite@vitolo.it.

Yes, cash on delivery carries a surcharge of 5,00 € plus VAT and is available for orders between 30,00 € and 300,00 €.

The payment is only actually charged when the order is ready for shipping, not when the purchase proposal is submitted.

Prices are shown both including and excluding VAT, and do not include shipping costs. Because of rounding in the tax calculation, the total of the purchase proposal may vary by a few cents.

For professional use, a proper invoice is enclosed with the goods; for private purchases a fiscal receipt is enclosed. For parties holding a VAT number, the invoice is transmitted electronically through the SdI, the Italian exchange system.

No. For business customers with a valid EU VAT number (verified via VIES), the transaction is not subject to Italian VAT. Enter your VAT number when registering: the exemption is applied automatically at checkout.

Returns, withdrawal and warranty

You can exercise the right of withdrawal within 14 calendar days from the date of receipt of the goods, without having to give any reason (Art. 52 Consumer Code). For purchases with a VAT number (B2B) the right of withdrawal does not apply.

You can exercise the right of withdrawal via the online function at /recesso or by sending an explicit declaration by email to vendite@vitolo.it within 14 calendar days of receipt. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt on a durable medium (email) shortly afterwards.

Withdrawal is excluded for items made to measure, customised or ordered on request, and for items that by their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate rapidly. It is also excluded if the item is not intact, if it is returned without its original packaging or the accessories originally included, in the case of partial withdrawal from an indivisible unit, or if the item is not actually returned.

Given the wide variety of items, colours and shades cannot be faithfully reproduced in technical terms and we cannot guarantee an exact match. Colour exchanges or returns are nevertheless possible: return and replacement shipping costs remain payable by the customer. To avoid ordering the wrong item, we recommend requesting a sample beforehand.

All products are covered for two years from delivery against defects in materials or workmanship, excluding normal wear. Direct and indirect damage caused by incorrect or unsuitable use is not covered: given the variety of the items and their possible applications, it is up to the customer to carry out the appropriate suitability tests.

First request a return authorisation by writing to vendite@vitolo.it. Send the product in its original packaging to our premises at Via G. Ferraris 70, 80142 Napoli. Shipping costs are payable by the customer, except in the case of an error.

Raise the issue with the courier immediately by writing a reservation on the delivery note, then contact us at vendite@vitolo.it attaching photos of the packaging and the contents. Without a written reservation to the courier it is not possible to open a compensation claim.

Products: a haberdashery guide

The ligne (line) is the traditional unit for measuring buttons: 1 ligne equals 0.635 mm, and 40 lignes make up one inch, i.e. 25.4 mm. To convert, multiply the number of lignes by 0.635 to get millimetres. A 20-ligne button therefore measures about 12.7 mm in diameter. For round buttons the diameter is measured, for oval or elongated ones the longer dimension.

On a traditional men's shirt, 13-ligne buttons are used on the collar, 15-ligne buttons on the cuffs, and 16-20 ligne buttons on the front placket.

They indicate the approximate width of the chain in millimetres when the zip is closed. Size 3 is the finest, suitable for skirts, dresses and lightweight garments; size 5 is the most versatile, for trousers, sweatshirts and bags; size 8 and above are for coats, heavy outerwear and technical items.

A coil zip is made of two nylon coils: it is lighter, softer and more flexible, ideal for light and medium-weight fabrics. A metal zip is stronger and more rigid, suitable for jeans, coats and bags. There is also an invisible version, with the chain hidden inside the seam, used on elegant and formal garments.

A separating zip allows the two halves to come completely apart and is the type used on jackets, zip-up sweatshirts and outerwear. A closed-end (non-separating) zip stays joined at the base and is used on skirts, trousers and cases.

The count expresses the fineness of the yarn. Nm (metric number) indicates how many metres of yarn make up one kilogram: Nm 5,000 means 5,000 metres per kg. Ne is the English system, used mainly for cotton. Tex indicates the weight in grams of 1,000 metres of yarn. In the Nm and Ne systems, the higher the number, the finer the yarn; in the Tex system, it is the opposite.

It indicates a plied (twisted) yarn: the first number is the number of single ends twisted together (2), the second is the count of each single end (28). Cones may show either 2/28 or 2/28.000: the count is identical.

Needle size should be proportional to the weight of the fabric. Needles 60/8 and 70/10 for lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, organza, georgette and silk; 80/12 for medium-weight fabrics such as cotton, linen and jersey; 90/14 and 100/16 for heavy fabrics such as denim, canvas and leather. Thread and stitch length should also be increased along with the weight of the fabric.

They are applied with a hot iron, without steam, pressing firmly for a few seconds, ideally with a cotton cloth in between. Temperature and time vary depending on the backing: always test on an off-cut of the same fabric before the final application.

Items sold by length are supplied in whole packs (rolls or reels) of the length shown on the product page. The price may be displayed per metre to make comparison easier, but the purchase is made by the whole pack: the minimum quantity and multiple are shown on the product page.

Yes. We are distributors of the brands featured in our catalogue and all items are new and genuine, supplied directly by the manufacturers or their official distributors.

It depends on the type. Iron-on (hotfix) stones are applied with an iron or a heat applicator on the back of the stone. Glue-on stones require a specific fabric glue. Sew-on stones have holes or a setting for fixing with thread. The application method is shown on the product page.
