About Us
Raffaele Vitolo opened a small shop in the Mercato area of Naples in 1926, selling sewing threads and haberdashery items. In the following years, he expanded the business by moving to ever larger premises, transitioning from local trade to trade in the regions of Southern Italy, Sicily and Sardinia.
With the arrival of his sons Giorgio and Maurizio in the company in the 1970s, the company grew further and began to open up to the national and international market, first by importing directly and expanding the product range, and later by establishing itself on the European market as well. The company name was changed to Raffaele Vitolo S.r.l., and the new headquarters in Via Galileo Ferraris was acquired, with a covered area of over 4,000 square metres, while maintaining a retail outlet in the Mercato area.
The company was led by Raffaele Vitolo himself until 1979. Management then passed to his sons, first one then the other. The company is currently led by Maurizio Vitolo who, together with his children Alessandro and Valeria, represents the current company structure.
The company, already well known in Southern Italy as a firm specialising in the wholesale trade of haberdashery items, sewing threads and industrial supplies, is now known throughout Italy for the completeness of its range, the availability of ready stock in its warehouses and its competitive prices. Since 1988, the headquarters has been in Via G. Ferraris.
